Degree Completion & Licensure
Statutory pathways to obtain the professional title of Licenciado(a) en Actuaría (Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science) and register the Federal Professional License (Cédula Profesional) with Mexico's Ministry of Public Education (SEP).
Official Degree Completion Pathways
In accordance with the UAZ General Statute (Article 188) and School Regulations (Articles 145 to 173), graduates may choose any of the following pathways:
Undergraduate Thesis & Oral Defense
Original research manuscript addressing a theoretical or applied quantitative problem in actuarial science, financial mathematics, or risk modeling, defended before a faculty examination board.
- •Registration and approval of the thesis topic by the Academic Unit Council
- •Appointment of a thesis advisor and two academic reviewers
- •Public defense and oral examination before a 3-member jury
Academic Excellence / General GPA
Direct degree completion awarded to graduates who maintained outstanding academic performance throughout all 10 semesters of the curriculum.
- •Minimum cumulative general GPA of 9.0 (on a 10.0 scale)
- •Zero failed or retaken courses (all courses passed on first regular examination)
- •Completion of the degree program within standard regulatory timeframe
Standardized Exit Examination (CENEVAL EGEL)
Accreditation through the national standardized exit examination for actuarial or quantitative sciences administered by CENEVAL.
- •Obtain a Satisfactory or Outstanding performance verdict (Dictamen Sobresaliente) on the national EGEL exam
- •Official certificate issued directly by CENEVAL
Professional Experience Report
Preparation and defense of a technical monograph demonstrating at least one year of continuous professional actuarial practice in the financial or insurance sector.
- •Minimum of 1 year of verified full-time actuarial employment post-graduation
- •Comprehensive technical report detailing quantitative risk models implemented
- •Oral defense before an appointed academic review committee
Postgraduate Coursework Progression
Degree completion granted by completing the first year (or 50% of credits) of an accredited master's or doctoral program in mathematics, economics, or finance.
- •Acceptance and enrollment in an accredited postgraduate program (CONAHCYT / UAZ)
- •Accreditation of at least 50% of postgraduate credits with a minimum GPA of 8.0
Pre-Graduation Institutional Requirements
Prior to filing your formal graduation dossier with the Department of School Services, you must obtain certification for each of these milestones:
100% Curricular Credits
Accreditation of all 52 subjects (47 required and 5 electives) on your academic transcript.
Social Service Release Certificate
Official certificate verifying fulfillment of 480 hours of constitutional social service.
Professional Internship Accreditation
Accreditation of 800 hours of corporate or institutional professional practice.
English Language Certification
Accreditation of intermediate English reading comprehension (Level B1/B2 CEFR) at the UAZ Language Center.
University Clearance Certificates (No-Adeudo)
Non-debt clearance certificates from the university library, computing labs, and school administration.
Federal Electronic Professional License (Cédula Profesional)
Upon obtaining your degree certificate and passing your examination minutes, UAZ School Services registers your electronic degree title with the SEP General Directorate of Professions (DGP). You can then download your official Electronic Cédula Profesional valid across the Mexican Republic.
