Social Service (Servicio Social)
Statutory constitutional requirement for degree completion and professional licensure in Mexico. Students apply competencies in mathematical modeling, risk analysis, and statistics to serve the community and public institutions.
Completion & Release Procedure
Follow the 5 stages codified in the Social Service Regulations of the Academic Unit of Mathematics to ensure official institutional accreditation:
Curricular Progress Verification (70%)
Students must verify on their official academic transcript (kárdex) that they have completed at least 70% of degree credits (typically from Semester 7 onwards).

Host Institution & Program Selection
Select an authorized program within public agencies, educational institutions, research centers, or social welfare organizations where quantitative modeling or community benefit is applied.

Issuance of Formal Assignment Letter
The Academic Unit of Mathematics Directorship and Social Service Coordination issue the official Assignment Letter formalizing the start of the 480 statutory hours.
- •Official Assignment Letter, signed and stamped
Activity Execution & Periodic Reporting
Continuous completion of the 480 hours over no fewer than 6 months and no more than 24 consecutive months, dedicating 24 hours (4 monthly hours) to community and academic initiatives organized by the Academic Unit.

- •Monthly attendance logs signed by the institutional supervisor
Final Report & Official Release Certificate
Upon completion of the 480 hours, submit the Comprehensive Final Report and the Host Entity Completion Letter to obtain the definitive Institutional Release Certificate (Constancia de Liberación).

Eligible Host Organizations
Social service must be completed within public entities or authorized non-profit institutions with formal collaboration agreements:
Public & Governmental Sector
Federal and state ministries, statistical bureaus, fiscal planning secretariats, and public social security agencies.
Educational & Academic Institutions
Mentoring in fundamental and financial mathematics, developing interactive open educational resources, and supporting applied research projects.
Non-Governmental Organizations & Non-Profits
Civil associations, charitable foundations, and community development organizations requiring quantitative diagnostic modeling and impact measurement.
